Expression Theatre Forums

Expression Theatre was officially formed in July 2007 and will grow into a thriving theatre company over the years. Our annual programme will normally consist of two productions including a pantomime or Christmas production, together with regular drama, dance and singing workshops.

Cucklington Village Hall is the home of the Group. This was re-built recently to commemorate the memory of the late Arthur Morison who was a distinguished pianist at the Old Hall and played many times for the pantomimes and old time musicals many years ago. There is wheelchair access and fully accessible toilet facilities. Other facilities include a fully equipped kitchen and ample car-parking.

All this is run by volunteers. We have a committee of elected members. This committee is elected, or re-elected each year at the Annual General Meeting which is held in the autumn. We are mostly self-financing with very little help in the way of grants, even though we have applied for one. The support of our members, both in terms of the subscriptions they pay and the help they provide, is therefore essential to our survival.

Membership of Expression Theatre will entitle you to priority postal booking for all shows. You will receive a bi-monthly Newsletter giving you advance news of forthcoming performances, auditions and social events. You will have the opportunity to contribute towards our productions either by taking part on stage, or by helping with one of the many essential jobs backstage. You will also be actively supporting an important community resource for Wincanton and surrounding areas.

Data Protection Act

Still and Video images of members may be taken during productions for use in publicity material including the Society Internet Sites.

Child Protection
In order to comply with the latest regulations when assisting juniors to dress for the rehearsals and performances, we would prefer that parents help with their own children. If this is not possible an authorized dressing assistant will be available. This person will be checked in line with the latest police recommendations.
